A warmth of popular feeling surrounds the royal image of King Edward,
seen as the bonhomous and stately embodiment of the age to which
he gave his name. As long as we continue to invest the Edwardian
era with a reputation for delicious if somewhat upholstered pleasures,
the personality of King Edward himself will surely continue to arouse
the same nostalgia.
The Kings Head is based around this philosophy, a 17th century
inn with the traditional feel of the inglenook fireplaces, woodburners
and low beamed ceilings. Fresh food carefully prepared and beautifully
cooked.
The Kings Head Bawburgh is a freehouse with frequently changing
guest beers. Other well-kept real ales include Adnams Bitter, Greene
King IPA, Courage Directors and Woodfordes Wherry. A comprehensive
wine list ranges from cheerful house wines to more exotic stars
of the vintners art.
The atmosphere at the Kings Head is always comfortable and the
friendly licensee and his staff will find the time to make you feel
welcome. The Kings Head is Les Routiers awarded and is also featured
in the Good Pub Guide 2000 and the AA Best Pubs and Inns 2000.
