
Deopham Green village, Norfolk
Deopham Green is a small village situated 2 miles north of Attleborough and roughly 6 miles from the market town of Wymondham. During World War II, Deopham Green airfield was built as a base for the United States Eighth Army Airforce (USAAF). B-17 Fortresses began combat operations on 5 February 1944 and flew 250 missions from Deopham Green.
