The south Norfolk village of Poringland lies 5 miles south of the city of Norwich, 6 miles north west of Bungay and next to the villages of Stoke Holy Cross and Framingham Earl. Poringland was once known as East and West Poringland and the name Poringland derives from ‘Poor spring land’ because of its poor soil quality. Poringland has a variety of shops and amenities that include a primary school, supermarket, village hall, estate agent and 3 public houses. The village church, Poringland All Saints, is at the heart of the village and has a round Norman tower.
