The north Norfolk village of Salthouse lies on the A149 coast road close to the villages of Cley-next-the-Sea, Blakeney, Weybourne and Morston. Salthouse is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is popular with bird watchers and walkers. The rare nightingale and nightjar can be seen and heard during spring and early summer at Salthouse Heath and attracts twitchers from afar. The village has a general store and post office, public house and fish shop with tearooms attached. Salthouse church, St Nicholas, is a fine 15th century building that overlooks the sea.
