The village of Scole is on the river Waveney border with Suffolk and is one of the most southerly villages in Norfolk. Scole is roughly 20 miles from Norwich and Thetford and approximately 20 miles from the Suffolk towns of Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. Scole church, St Andrew’s, was deliberately set on fire on 7th January 1963 and was almost completely gutted. Scole has a number of shops and amenities including a school and general store.
