Surlingham village, Norfolk

The south Norfolk village of Surlingham is situated 5 ½ miles south east of Norwich, close to the villages of Brundall, Rockland St Mary and Bramerton. Surlingham lies on the River Yare, and Surlingham Broad is one of the immensely popular Norfolk Broads. The well-known writer and broadcaster Ted Ellis (1909-1986) lived in Surlingham for many years and the Ted Ellis Nature Reserve is open to the public and is considered a site of special scientific interest.
