The much anticipated and popular Deepdale Festival is on from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th September 2019 in Burnham Deepdale, on the beautiful north Norfolk coast, approximately halfway between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea. This is the 3rd annual festival, with live music throughout the weekend, commencing Thursday evening and carrying on until late Sunday evening.
With more than 35 acts, and 4 different stages; Brick Barn Stage, Backpackers Stage, Orchard Stage and St Mary’s Church, it’s sure to be another exciting weekend of live music, entertainment and fun. Enjoy some great live music, spoken word, drum workshops, street entertainment, pop up shops, festival stalls, tasty food and drink and the chilled atmosphere of Deepdale Festival.
The festival will feature some of the best musicians from across East Anglia and beyond, including special guest Martin Carthy, who will be performing on Sunday evening. Considered one of folk music’s greatest innovators, he is a ground-breaking acoustic and electric guitarist and ballad singer. From breakfast sessions starting at 8.30am to late evening performances, visitors can enjoy loads of live music at Deepdale Festival 2019.
Other highlights of the festival include appearances from local artists such as Morganway, Dove & Boweevil, The Cobbler Bob String Band, Fred’s House, Lucy Grubb and Das Fenster & The Alibis. There will be 2 very special concerts in the church from the Tin Heart Troubadours with the Heart Strings and the Marham Military Wives Choir. Acts from further afield include Gentlemen of Few, Smith & Brewer, Fran & Flora, Kitty Macfarlane and Man The Lifeboats. On Thursday evening, as a pre cursor to the main festival and for those staying on Thursday night, amongst other events there will be a chilled Open Mic Night/Jam Session around the fire pits. Festival goers are encouraged to bring an instrument and make some noise, clap, sing and laugh together.
As well as amazing music there will also be some great food and drink on offer including: award winning craft ale and lager from North Norfolk’s - Norfolk Brewhouse, Norfolk Thai cuisine (with most of their menu being gluten free), The Duck Truck, The Flower Garnish Donuts selling donuts, hot and cold drinks, candy floss, popcorn and sweets. The Piggy Pod specialises in bacon and hotdogs that have been sourced from a local Norfolk butcher, the Travelling Bluebird will be selling posh toasties and The Wood Fired Food Co. will be cooking sourdough pizzas.
There will also be stalls selling handmade crafts including: Ab press Jewellery who crate handmade jewellery from old coins, recycled silver and lino prints, Bens Bags who make tote bags in designer and vintage fabrics, Elfcraft Woodcraft who make bespoke sustainable woodcraft products, Gem’s Boutique who make country living products for both you and your home from tweed, wools and statement florals. Laura’s Fun Faces Face Painting will provide fabulous festival face paints for both adults and children, from peacock feathers and rose crowns to rainbow beards and plenty of glitter to Captain America. Prippy Braids will be there to offer fun removable hair braids, feathers and festival style hair and for those with a sweet tooth, stop by at So Sweet, for honeycomb, rocky roads, fudge, lollipops and all things sweet.
Pop up shops include: PollyB Bespoke Upholstery & Denise Brown Ceramics, Emily Rose Fine Art - wildlife and pet portrait artist, The Holme Cake Company and Boo Boutique selling ladies clothing and accessories.
The shops onsite will be open including Deepdale Stores, Deepdale Café, Fat Face, Gone Crabbing for gifts & clothing, Relish Jewellery & Accessories, One Stop Nature Shop, The Hare & The Hen Gallery & Craft Shop and Driftwood Glass Studio.
