Playing Tennis in Norfolk

Tennis or lawn tennis enjoys a long and proud history and is now an Olympic sport. The rules are easy to learn and it’s a sociable sport, played between either two players or two teams of two players. Playing tennis has many health benefits that include increasing aerobic capacities, improving metabolic function, lowering blood pressure, improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility, lowering body fat and increasing bone density and reaction times.

Throughout the year, tennis clubs and facilities in Norfolk provide free opportunities to try out the game, usually in the form of open days. People are welcome to turn up, borrow equipment, receive coaching and see whether tennis is the game for them. Becoming a member of a tennis club has many benefits, including competitive matches, social play, tuition as well as the social aspect that attracts many.

Across Norfolk there are plenty of tennis venues and clubs that offer pay and play tennis to non-members. If you would rather just play the occasional game without joining a club, please contact the specific club to see whether they accept non-members.
