The village of Rockland St Mary sits between the river Yare and the Norwich to Loddon road. Rockland Staithe is a popular overnight mooring for pleasure craft and Rockland Broad is much used by anglers and those with an interest in wildlife. Rockland St Mary has a number of shops and the residents whom once would have found employment within the village, now travel into Norwich and the surrounding areas in search of work.
