Halloween 2020 Event at Holkham

A Grimm Halloween is promised at the Holkham Estate, Norfolk - Wednesday 28th October to Saturday 31st October 2020, 10am - 1pm or 1pm - 4pm.

Inspired by The Brothers Grimm, visitors can book a Halloween to remember at Holkham in Norfolk and find live mini-performances of Hansel and Gretel deep in the enchanted walled garden, spooky storytelling, face painting, pumpkin carving, crafts and trails for the whole family. For those who dare there’s the opportunity to get up close to creepy crawlies and conquer the tree top terrors ropes course under the cover of darkness.

The enchanted walled garden is home this Halloween to some live outdoor mini performances of Hansel and Gretel with more Grimm stories and folk tales being told by tale spinner Dave Tonge. There are other Halloween themed events taking place during the above dates including, Exotic Encounters – where visitors can get up close to some terrifying creepy crawlies, if they dare! Why not carve your own pumpkin to take home (£3.00) and enjoy some ghoulish face painting (from £4.00). Get creative with a witch-craft goodie bag that contains crafts to enjoy at home or whilst you are onsite. Choose trick or treat? There are trails within the walled garden to explore and a special treat once completed.

Have you got what it takes to defeat the wobbly crossings and swinging bridges under the cover of darkness in their treetop terrors ropes course? Look out for ghosts and ghouls, swooping bats and spooky spiders and tiptoe over the crossings before descending down the zip wires when the sky starts to dim. This horrifying adventure is available between the 28th and 31st October 2020, 5pm-8pm. It costs £18 per person and pre-booking is essential.

Bikes can be hired at Holkham and visitors can follow the skele-trail and solve the spooky clues around the park.  These are available to hire daily and cost from £8 per person. More details of bike hire can be found by visiting the Holkham website.

Tickets for Halloween at Holkham in the Walled Garden are £6.00 per person, under 2s go free. There is an additional charge for other activities, such as bike hire, ropes course etc… further details of which can be found on their website.

Please note that the majority of activities will be based outdoors with limited cover, to keep everyone as safe as possible. Make sure you wrap up warm and ideally wear waterproof clothing, as it often rains in October! When activities are indoors, adults are required to wear face coverings.
