Halloween is just around the corner and whether you love it or loathe it, Halloween celebrations and events in Norfolk increase year on year. However, this year things are looking a little different, with many of the events that were scheduled to take place already cancelled. Some are still going ahead, so if you love Halloween and want to mark the occasion, here is all the information you need to enjoy Halloween 2020 in Norfolk.
From pumpkin carving, and scavenger hunts to drive-in cinemas, a Halloween Spooktacular at the Hippodrome Circus and a Monster Club Show at Wensum Valley Hotel, there is still a range of fun events taking place this coming Halloween in Norfolk.
BeWILD and Batty and the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade at BeWILDerwood
BeWILD and Batty - this events takes place at BeWILDerwood this coming October half term, up until 1st November 2020. There will be lots of family fun in their magical autumnal woodland this October. Running from Saturday 17th October through to Sunday 1st November 2020 visitors can brave the broken bridge, climb to the top of the treetop tangles, slip down the slippery slopes looking out for Hazel’s magic pumpkins and Snagglefang’s BeWILDerbats! Definitely a treat rather than a trick!!! Find out why Snagglefang is the coolest bat in all of BeWIDerwood at the Storytelling Stage and help the BeWILDerbat’s Gang find the answers to all the jokes in the joke trail. Don’t forget to come dressed in your favourite spooktacular costume, be it a nice witch, a bat, a creepy crawly or something else. Visitors can get crafty making a Boggle-Bindle Lantern with glowing Slitherigrub at the Big Hat between 11am and 4pm, perfect for some twilight adventures.
This event runs 17th - 18th October and 22nd October - 1st November 2020.
The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade - taking place at BeWILDerwood between Saturday 17th October and Sunday 1st November 2020. Their much-anticipated event will see a new adventure and BeWILDerwood will glow like never before in a magical light extravaganza. Journey through the woods and watch the story unfold as you see the park in a whole new light at dusk, where you can enjoy tasty, warming snacks and a fantastical tale. Help the Boggles light up the woods by making your own Boggle Bindle Lantern, complete with Slitherigrub at Hazel’s Hideaway. Venture deep into the woods looking out for Boggles in the marshes and listen to the Twiggles in the trees. The Thornyclod will be busy making marshmallows in his mud kitchen and Hazel is casting spells high up in her witch’s house. Celebrate this special time of year with spooktacular costumes; a family event that is magical rather than scary!
The Parade has scheduled time slots and is a separate ticketed event. Tickets need to be booked online but some may be available on the day if space allows. If visitors wish to visit during the day and in the evening, they will need to make two separate bookings. This event runs 17th - 18th October and 22nd October - 1st November 2020.

Dippy's Halloween Days - ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure
This popular Halloween event returns between Saturday 24th October and Sunday 1st November 2020 at ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure. Dippy and his friends are busy preparing for some spooky fun across the park and visitors can join Vincent the Vampire at the Graveyard for some spooky Halloween tales. Then, with the Dinomite gang, follow the clues to find out whether or not there is a Werewolf in the woods!
In Dippy-ville, guests can enjoy individual craft tables to create some Halloween Witch Crafts with Bobble-de-boop the Witch (1 per child) and take on the trail to find the Blue Skeleton Parts - where a Halloween prize can be won.

The Monster Club Show and Halloween Movies at Wensum Valley Hotel
Housed within a Big Top in the lovely surroundings of Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club, The Monster Club Show promises spook-tacular fun with a mix of live music, performance, dance and circus. If you are looking for a family friendly event for your little monsters, then this could be just the thing to keep everyone entertained this coming Halloween.
Running from Saturday 24th October to Saturday 31st October 2020 (October half term), Wensum Valley Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Taverham will be hosting both daytime and evening events. Halloween Drive-in Cinema at the Norfolk Showground
This Halloween event is taking place between Thursday 29th October and Sunday 1st November 2020 at the Norfolk Showground.
Visitors can expect the ultimate spooky drive-in experience this Halloween……….if they dare!!! Book tickets to see some terrifying and some not-so-terrifying movies this coming Halloween in Norfolk. Watch a horror or family friendly Halloween film in the comfort of your own car with audio coming straight to your car stereo. There will be street food to accompany your choice of Halloween themed film including: Nightmare Before Christmas, Get Out, Blair Witch Project, Beetlejuice, 28 Days Later, Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hotel Transylvania, Hocus Pocus, Ghostbusters, The Exorcist and Nightmare On Elm Street.

Halloween 2020 at Holkham
Don’t miss a Grimm Halloween at the Holkham Estate between Wednesday 28th October and Saturday 31st October 2020.
Inspired by The Brothers Grimm, visitors can enjoy live mini-performances of Hansel and Gretel, spooky storytelling, face painting, pumpkin carving, crafts and trails, creepy crawlies, tree top terror ropes course and more.

Nightmares in Norfolk is west Norfolk’s newest scare attraction and is run by a group of passionate horror lovers who want to create the most intense and realistic horror attraction. Featuring actors, this is a live action scare maze that promises to scare!!!

Pumpkin Festival 2020 at Wroxham Barns
Book your tickets for October half-term, between Thursday 22nd and Saturday 31st October 2020 for their Pumpkin Festival which promises to be bigger and better in 2020!!
Each child gets a free pumpkin, unlimited rides on their newly refurbished fun park and there’s a potion and spell school with Wilma the Witch. Tickets MUST be booked online so that they can manage their capacity.
Prices are £11.95 per child, which includes a pumpkin. Adults £10.95 excluding pumpkin. Additional pumpkins cost £1.50. Tickets are subject to a booking fee.

Eerie Explorers Halloween Event at Pensthorpe
Between Thursday 22nd October and Sunday 1st November 2020, visitors at Pensthorpe Natural Park can become Eerie Explorers for this October half term Halloween themed event! Perfect for families and children of all ages, this Halloween 2020 event is sure to be lots of fun. Uncover the grim and gruesome side of nature, from creepy crawlies to the sinister sounds heard outdoors. Discover fun facts about nature and wildlife in all its dark and dreadful forms. There will be a spooky scavenger hunt that will force visitors to wander the reserve and gardens without waking sleeping predators that lurk in the trees, hedgerows, and grasslands.
To discover the heart of the reserve and to uncover parts of Pensthorpe that aren’t accessible on foot, book a seat on the Pensthorpe Explorer tour, an off-road adventure that will teach visitors about habitats, the history of the estate and the diverse wildlife that lives here. The Pensthorpe Explorer is an additional £4 per person and can be pre-booked online or when you arrive.
Daily activities include Eerie Explorers Trail around the reserve, Hootz & Friends Discovery Trail around the reserve, Sculpture Trail around the reserve, Squirrel Talk, Craft Activity in the WildRootz marquee and Bird Feed and Talk in the Viewing Gallery.

Free Halloween Pumpkin Pickin' at Pettitts Animal Adventure Park
From Thursday 22nd October 2020 to Sunday 1st November 2020 some spooky Halloween fun is to be had this coming October half term. Pettitts Pumpkin Pickin’ is back for 2020 and visitors also get to ride their spook-tacular rides and see animals and attractions for a fun family day out.
All paying children get to pick a pumpkin from their Pumpkin Patch, take it to the carving area using their little wheelbarrows and with their carving team, create, carve and keep a spooky pumpkin!

Halloween Hoot at Hirsty’s
Hirsty’s Halloween Hoot takes place between Thursday 22nd October and Sunday 1st November 2020 at Hirsty’s Family Fun Park. Visitors can pick a pumpkin, carve it on site and get their face painted, as well as enjoy all their play equipment. Each day they award prizes for the best costume and best pumpkin and visitors can join the Pumpkin Queen for a walk through the maze and help her scare away the pesky crows!

Halloween Spooktacular 2020 at the Hippodrome Great Yarmouth

Kids Go Free October Half Term on the Bure Valley Railway
Something less scary to do around Halloween that the whole family are sure to enjoy. Between Thursday 24th October and Sunday 1st November 2020 kids go free with a full return fare paying adult. Maximum of 2 children per adult regardless of age (0-15).
Prices: Adults £14.50. Depart from either Aylsham Station located in the historic market town or from Wroxham Station, the home of the beautiful Norfolk Broads. Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment.
