Cinemas in Norfolk Slash their Ticket Prices
Published date: February 2019
Gone are the days when watching a film meant going to the local cinema. Today there are many other options available, with on-demand movies proving very popular, with the likes of Netflix, Sky, Amazon Prime and other streaming services all vying for a share of the market. Many people have cinema sized TVs as standard at home, so going to the cinema to watch a movie is no longer imperative.
However, according to statistics from the UK Cinema Association, national cinema admissions were up in 2018, proving that the cinema is still a popular pastime. Sadly, Hollywood Cinemas recently announced it had ceased trading and its cinemas in Great Yarmouth and Norwich have already closed. Their website states that the Dereham site will continue under new ownership.
Following on from this news, Odeon in Norwich have slashed their ticket prices with a Saturday night screening costing under £6. This has brought them in line with Vue Norwich, who have been selling their tickets this past year at a similar price. This is great news for the consumer and makes a night out at the cinema much more affordable. It’s quite bizarre that the snacks and drinks bought at the cinema can sometimes cost more than the cinema admission ticket itself!
For guests who are on the autism spectrum or have sensory or learning difficulties, watching a standard film production can be challenging. Guests who are blind or partially sighted, have restricted mobility or are deaf and hard of hearing will find that Odeon Norwich offers specially adapted screenings. Further details can be found on their website: www.odeon.co.uk/accessibility
If you are a regular cinema goer, it may be worth looking into the membership deals that some Norfolk cinemas offer. There are often other promotions available across Norfolk such as senior and student reduced rates, family tickets, 2 for one offers, discounted morning showings, and limitless film screenings for a monthly fee. Check with the individual websites below, for all their latest offers and promotions.
Norfolk has a good selection of cinemas, wherever you live in the county or are visiting the region, you won’t have to travel far to view all the latest film releases.
