Here are some not to be missed attractions in and around Great Yarmouth:

Great Yarmouth Beach

Explore 15 miles of soft sandy beach at Great Yarmouth, from busy parts to areas that are virtually tourist free. Find deck chair hire, access ramps for the disabled, seaside shops and cafes selling ice creams, doughnuts and candyfloss.  Take a boat from Britannia Pier and head out to see the seals at Scroby Sands.

Golden Mile

Great Yarmouth’s Golden Mile goes from Britannia Pier down to the Pleasure Beach and is a beachside strip that is home to many attractions. From adventure golf courses, casino, model villages and aquarium to theatres, amusement arcades, endless eateries, bars and souvenir shops, it’s all here!

Time and Tide Museum

Occupying the premises of the Tower Fish Curing Works, the Time and Tide museum documents Great Yarmouth’s history from the Stone Age, with lots of fascinating information about the town’s past fishing and maritime activity.

Pleasure Beach

Opening March – October, Great Yarmouth’s Pleasure Beach has been entertaining visitors since 1909. From fun family rides to white knuckle delights, there is a great mix of rides and attractions at Great Yarmouth’s Please Beach.

Elizabethan House Museum

A National Trust property, the Elizabethan House Museum is a fascinating place to visit with fine art, decoration, furniture and paintings dating back to the 1500s and gives an insight into what a merchant’s home was like in Tudor times.


Next to Britannia Pier, Joyland is a children’s amusement park that that has been drawing in the crowds since 1949. Rides include the world-famous snails, tyrolean tub twist, spook express kiddie coaster and pirate ship. Open March - October, there is also a popular American-style diner, serving fast food.

Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens

8 miles from Great Yarmouth, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens has a rich variety of birds, reptiles and mammals from Asia and is open all year round. Discover large cats such as endangered tigers and leopards as well as cute red pandas, noisy gibbons and huge crocodiles.
