Enjoy food from around the world on Norwich Market

Over a thousand years ago there was a Saxon market in Norwich, but it was during the Norman period that the market moved to its current site. Norwich market has been refurbished over the years, with the latest refurbishment being completed in 2006. It is one of the oldest and largest outdoor markets and sells all manner of products and services under brightly coloured striped roofs.

In recent years Norwich Market has become renowned for its eclectic mix of food stalls, offering cuisine from all corners of the world. Fresh, tasty, reasonably priced and fast food is served daily by many different independent stall holders; it’s fast becoming a foodie’s haven, with its vast array of delicious offerings. Select from traditional fish and chips, English breakfasts, hog roasts, jacket potatoes, bacon rolls and mushy peas to churros, falafels, lasagne, French, Chilean, Malaysian, Japanese and Indian street food; Norwich market has it all.

Each stall on the market is covered and some have their own seating areas where you can consume your purchases. At the back of the market, in front of City Hall, many people gather at the gardens to enjoy their food, overlooking the city of Norwich.

Lasagneria

Paolo Grazzini cooks authentic Italian fish, meat and vegetarian lasagnes in the traditional way. Also offering vegan and gluten free lasagnes, focaccias, cold pasta dishes, frittatas and tiramisu.

Ron’s Fish and Chips

Established in 1953, Ron’s is well-known for its tasty homemade chips, friendly service and very reasonable prices. Their homemade batter and hand-cut chips take some beating.

Ron’s Fish and Chips is on Row D, stalls 94 and 95. Open Monday - Saturday.

Mama Baba Hawker

Mama Baba serves a selection of Singapore and Malaysian influenced curries and pies. Dishes include Thai green curry pie, Katsu curry and chicken satay, and all the food is gluten free.

They are located on Row C, stall 79 and are open Monday - Saturday.

Bia Vegan Diner

Creating delicious vegan food that’s kinder to the planet; that’s what’s important to Bia Vegan Diner.

Taking their inspiration from American diner classics, they use local ingredients whenever possible, and many of their dishes can be gluten free.

Here is a selection of what’s on offer at Bia Vegan Diner: mushroom wellington, quesadilla, mushroom toastie, katsu curry box, kofte, po-boy, philly cheesesteak, breakfast bap, caulifire bites, sweet beet burger, Bia burger, pulled jack bap, spicy bean burrito and mac ‘n’ cheese.

Bun Box

Serving Hirata Buns, Bon Buri rice bowls and other Japanese inspired street food on Norwich Market.

Find them on Row A, stall 23. 12pm - 3pm Tuesday - Saturday.

Churros & Chorizo

This stall offers Spanish inspired street food such as padron peppers, chorizo ciabatta and delicious slow cooked stews. If you are looking for something sweet, try their churros with hot chocolate sauce.

The Mushy Pea Stall

Established in 1949, The Mushy Pea Stall is run by the third generation of the same family and is still going strong. Selling their own fresh homemade mushy peas alongside mint sauce, assorted pies, bacon rolls, old-fashioned Westler burgers, hot dogs and hot and cold drinks.

Find them on Row E, stall 115. Open Monday - Saturday, 10am to 4pm.

Cocina Mia

Authentic Chilean food based on family recipes that have been passed down generations. Choose from empanadas, ensaladas and daily lunch time specials. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food is also available.

Find them on stalls 152 and 153 Tuesday - Saturday

Sicily Market

Sicily Market serve Sicilian and Italian street food that includes pizzas, calzones, pasta dishes and other traditional Italian snacks.

Rocco and Bruno dream of opening their own trattoria/pizzeria, but until then, Norwich Market is their home.

Jakey le Bakey

French style street food is served at Jakey the Bakey. Select from French inspired breakfasts and lunches, all freshly made. Take away or enjoy the food in their seating area.

Little Red Roaster

The Little Red Roaster market stall serves a range of tasty pastries and cakes and probably the best coffee on the market.

They also have coffee shops on Grove Rd, Norwich and on St Andrews Hill in the centre of Norwich where they offer lunches, soups, cakes and pastries as well as excellent coffee.

Find the Little Red Roaster on Row B of Norwich Market, stalls 52 and 53. Open Monday - Saturday, 8am to 3.30pm.

The All Electric Banger Stop

Homemade sausages are served with homemade ketchup or homemade smoked paprika and red pepper chilli sauce. Onions, cheese and other sauces are available. Good quality food at reasonable prices.

Find them on Row D, stall 80. Open Monday - Saturday, 12 noon to 3pm.

Falafel and Friends

Enjoy falafels with halloumi and other sides such as pickled vegetables and smoked artichokes. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free food is available, and food can be eaten in their seated area.

Find them on stall 40 and 41. 11am - 4pm Monday - Sunday

Henry’s Hog Roast

Freshly cooked local pork with all the trimmings. Crunchy crackling, apple sauce, and soft fresh bread rolls. Beef and turkey are also available.

Indian Feast

Try delicious vegetarian Indian street food on Norwich market such as samosas, onion bhajis, pakoras and homemade chutneys.

Indian Feast is located at stall 21 and open Tuesday - Saturday.

Lucy’s Fish and Chips

Lucy’s is one of the longest running stalls on Norwich market and serves traditional fish and chips, cooked in beef dripping or vegetable oil. They offer both vegetarian and gluten free alternatives as well as more unusual fare such as whitebait, deep fried cockles, battered haloumi, sweet potato and carrot fries.

Find Lucy’s on Row C, stalls 60 and 61. Open Monday - Saturday, 10.30am to 4pm.

Reggie’s

Home of the ‘Belly Buster’ breakfast, Reggie’s has been established for more than 60 years and is a popular destination for a traditional English breakfast. Renowned also for its minced beef pies, they also serve freshly filled rolls, sausage rolls and hot and cold drinks.

Find Reggie’s on Row E, stalls 100 and 101. Open Monday - Saturday, 7.30am to 4pm.

Deb’s

Traditional British breakfasts are served at Deb’s, along with burgers, hotdogs, filled rolls, cakes, scones, tea, coffee and cold drinks.

Find Deb’s on Row E and F, at the back of the market, stalls 116 and 119. Monday to Friday, 7am - 3pm, Saturday, 7am - 5pm.

Ruby’s

Renowned for its tasty kebabs and cheese-on-toast doorsteps, Ruby’s also serves freshly filled rolls, breakfast baps, toasties, burgers and teacakes.

Find Ruby’s on Row D, stall 96. Open Monday - Saturday, 8am to 3pm.

Bs Ts

Traditional British breakfasts, hot dogs, burgers, BLTs and filled rolls are served at Bs Ts stall on Norwich Market. They also serve hot and cold drinks.

Find them on Row F, stall 121. 7am - 4pm, Monday - Saturday.

Tasty House

Enjoy authentic South East Asian street food at Tasty House.

Row H, stalls 172 and 173. Open Monday - Saturday.

The China Wok and Curry Stop

Chinese and Thai inspired food including curries, stir fries and noodle soups.

Located on Row D, stalls 92 and 93. Open Monday - Saturday, 10.30am to 5.30pm.
