Overstrand is a village on the north Norfolk coast, 2 miles east of the popular seaside resort of Cromer. In years gone by Overstrand was a fishing village and although this tradition still continues, it is not on the same scale as before. Overstrand has a number of shops and amenities including a village store, post office, public house, restaurant and fishmongers. There is a lovely sandy beach at Overstrand that is accessible by a rather steep slope, a children's play area and a café that is open all year round, serving delicious home cooked food.
The village of Overstrand is located on the North Norfolk coast and is around a 45-minute drive from Norwich. There is a large pay and display carpark in the village overlooking the beach, with toilets, an ice cream van during the holiday season and a café close by. The walk starts at the cliff top carpark in Overstrand, to the left, as you look out to sea. It continues into Cromer, along the cliffs that tower above the beach, in some places reaching 70m high.
