Gin Produced in Norfolk - Support Local Businesses

Norfolk is fortunate to have a number of distilleries that produce some very fine gins and there has never been a better time to shop local and support independent retailers in the region by purchasing these tasty tipples. If you are looking to buy Christmas gifts or just want to restock your drinks cabinet, then why not purchase some locally produced gins and help support local independent businesses in the process.

Started by husband and wife team, Jason and Nicky in 2017, WhataHoot is a family business that takes its inspiration from the beautiful Norfolk countryside to create its flavours. Its Signature Dry Gin has hints of local lavender and sea samphire, and they are always looking for new and refreshing combinations to grow their range. They currently have 3 varieties of gin: their Signature Dry Gin, Navy Strength Gin and Tawny Orange Gin.

Via their website you can also order their own vodka as well as their gins, mixers and garnishes and book gin experiences. The WhataHoot distillery is a 17th century warehouse in the heart of historic King’s Lynn in Norfolk and offers a range of spaces, perfect for events of any kind, from board meetings and corporate away days to drinks receptions, private dining, hen and stag parties and birthday parties.

Norfolk Farmhouse Gins

Located in the beautiful Breckland district of rural Norfolk, Walnut Tree Distillery produces gin that is made in small batches and distilled in custom made milk churn stills on the family farm.  Containing botanicals that have been hand-picked on the farm, they use natural spring water from their own well.

All Norfolk Farmhouse Gins contain their signature ingredient, the walnut, that is hand-picked from the trees that surround their home and give the distillery its name. Sourcing as many of their ingredients as possible from the rich and abundant Norfolk countryside, their gins take their inspiration from the plants and flowers commonly found in the gardens and hedgerows of this beautiful and historic county meaning each and every bottle they produce contains a little bit of Norfolk.

They currently produce 5 varieties, Norfolk Farmhouse Dry, light and refreshing to be enjoyed in a classic G&T, with traditional juniper, and notes of Norfolk lavender and home-grown walnuts. Their Norfolk Farmhouse Sloe Gin is rich and fruity and makes a great topper in a glass of Prosecco. Norfolk Farmhouse Pink is based on their dry gin, with the addition of raspberries to the distillation botanicals to create a subtle fruit flavour. Norfolk Farmhouse Spiced Gin is their dry gin with added nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and a little bit of chilli.  Norfolk Farmhouse Rose is made by soaking their dry gin with edible rose petals to create this subtly fragrant spirit.
