The south Norfolk village of Poringland lies 5 miles south of the city of Norwich, 6 miles north west of Bungay and next to the villages of Stoke Holy Cross and Framingham Earl. Poringland was once known as East and West Poringland and the name Poringland derives from 'Poor spring land' because of its poor soil quality. Poringland has a variety of shops and amenities that include a primary school, supermarket, village hall, estate agent and 3 public houses. The village church, Poringland All Saints, is at the heart of the village and has a round Norman tower.
Situated 10 minutes south of Norwich, off the B1332 Bungay Road in Poringland, The Playbarn is a fun-packed indoor and outdoor play centre especially designed for children aged 7 and under. This farmyard-based adventure centre for younger children is open throughout the year and has previously won National Farm Attraction of the Year.
