Somerton
Somerton is made up of the twin villages of East Somerton and West Somerton and can be found 9 miles north of Great Yarmouth and a mile from the sea. There is plenty to do in and around the village including cycling, bird watching, boating and exploring the beautiful Norfolk countryside on foot. The church of West Somerton, St Mary, is famous for being the resting place of the Norfolk Giant, Roberts Hales, who was 7 feet, 6 inches tall and weighed 30 stone. He died at the age of 50 in 1856.
