West Dereham is a small village approximately 6 miles from the town of Swaffham. West Dereham Abbey was founded over 800 years ago by Hubert Walter, the once Archbishop of Canterbury and Legate to the Pope. It was the site of a 4-day market in September, during the days of King John.
