West Runton
The coastal village of West Runton is situated roughly 2 miles from Cromer and Sheringham. There is a lovely sand and pebble beach, as well as a range of well marked walks to take, through heathland and woods. West Runton has a railway station and is on the Bittern line, linking Sheringham and Norwich. It is also home of the Shire Horse Centre, a popular tourist attraction. In 1995 the bones of a woolly mammoth were found in the cliff face, on the beach, putting West Runton firmly on the map.
